Following the processes as a team – Arshdeep Singh on India’s massive win against Afghanistan
India secured a comfortable and a massive win against Afghanistan in Lucknow to clinch the ODI series with a game to spare. An all-round performance saw Shubman Gill lead the batting unit while a combined effort from the bowlers left the Afghans reeling, giving the Men in Blue their second consecutive win.
Arshdeep Singh put in a great shift with the ball, claiming three wickets. Talking in a post-match interview, Arshdeep opened up on the series win, highlighting his feelings after an impressive performance with the ball.
Shedding light on the series win, Arshdeep said, “Feels really good. Just been following the processes as a team, and the results are coming through nicely. And very good to see new faces in the bowling line-up and them stepping up and taking a lot of wickets.”
Reflecting on his own bowling performance, the Indian ace quick added, “I'm just enjoying whatever is happening on the field and off the field, I'm just trying to enjoy it and just give it my all and not have any regrets of not putting my 100% on the field.”
Revealing the chatter in the Indian dressing room after the win, Arshdeep added, “The environment and the chat has been really positive. The way the boys are putting in the hard yards in the practice sessions, the results will come through nicely in the future as well. We are just looking to follow what's best for the team and in the team's interest. So we're just trying to give our best, and as I said before, the results will follow.”
He concluded with a word about the newcomers, Gurnoor Brar and Prince Yadav, adding, “Everyone here, whenever they come here, they're pretty confident. They're coming off good IPL seasons as well. And the way we saw them bowling in the nets and how they're prepared, we can see they are ready to go and very hungry for success. And you can see that on the field as well. They're taking wickets for fun and just enjoying the moment.”
