Every single debutant India bring in, puts in a performance: Nasser Hussain
Team India's debutantes have set a new trend with each of them giving their best performance in India's winning cause in their first-ever match. During England's visit, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna all made their national team debuts, and all of them performed as if they had been playing international cricket for years.
Talking on Sky Sports, former England captain Nasser Nasser Hussain expressed awe at the performances and lavished them with praise.
"Every single debutant they bring in, puts in a performance, whether it’s Prasidh, Krunal Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan… the list is long,” Hussain told Sky Sports.
England missing their star batsman Joe Root in the limited-overs series
“England will look at themselves – 135/0 in 14 overs and 2 balls chasing that score. Did they need to be a little bit smarter? How much did they miss Joe Root… just to come in and knock it around and before you look at it, Root often is 40 off 50 balls and has soaked up the pressure,” he said.
A smarter approach is what England need to take in their ongoing ODI series against India away from home, claims Nasser Hussain.
“So they had effectively four and a half bowlers and you had to force Virat to bowl Hardik Pandya and they didn’t because they kept losing wickets and Kuldeep could just come on at the end when the game was already lost,” he added.
