Devdutt Padikkal slams fourth century in ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy
Devdutt Padikkal’s dream form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy continued as he slammed his fourth century of the tournament.
As Karnataka hammered home a clinical win against Tripura, Padikkal took over the reins of the game up front.
Karnataka found themselves wobbling early on as they lost Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair cheaply. It was with Ravichandran Smaran that Padikkal started steadying the ship. Padikkal’s knock was a sheer testimony to his patience and the versatile mindset that he brings to the game.
By the time he fell for 108 from 120 balls, he had already smacked eight fours and a six and propelled Karnataka to 265/5, offering them a platform to conclude big. Abhinav Manohar’s late charge saw them storm their way to 332/7.
This was Padikkal’s second consecutive ton and the fourth century of the tournament. He has already knitted together knocks of 147 against Jharkhand, 124 against Kerala, 113 against Puducherry before he slammed his fourth of the latest iteration of the tournament.
