DDCA to welcome crowds to the stands innovatively for the first India vs South Africa T20I

The first T20I between India and South Africa is all slated to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with a 94 percent sold out crowd already. This is the first game in Delhi since 2019 and the DDCA is letting no stone unturned to welcome the crowds back into the stadium. 

Going by the latest reports a total of 27000 tickets were put up for sale. DDCA joint secretary, Rajan Manchanda told PTI said, “94 percent of the tickets have been sold. There are about 400-500 tickets left.” 

New initiatives have also been taken to ensure the elderly fans would also feel welcome. “In its effort to improve fan experience, senior citizens will have the option to use golf cart to enter the stadium,” added the joint-secretary of DDCA.

Despite COVID-19 still rearing its ugly head at times, the worst of it has passed with time. But the DDCA has urged the fans to wear masks and maintain the existent Covid protocols in place, keeping in mind everyone’s safety.

“Our staff is being tested regularly. We request the fans to adhere to COVID protocols and wear masks at all times,” concluded Manchanda.

India will be playing South Africa in a five-match T20I series, as the road to the T20 world cup later in the year beginning in Delhi.
