Danni Wyatt-Hodge roped in by RCB via trade ahead of WPL 2025
RCB have signed dynamic opener Dannielle Wyatt-Hodge through a trade deal with the UP Warriorz, with the England star set to join the franchise for her base price of INR 30 lakhs ahead of WPL 2025.
Danni’s vast experience in the T20 format - 2979 runs in 164 matches at a strike rate of 127.85 - adds to RCB’s stacked roster of batting talent, which includes the likes of Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry and skipper Smriti Mandhana, among others.
The seasoned opener’s association with RCB means that she will also re-link with her opening partner Mandhana, with the duo having enjoyed a fruitful title-winning 2023 season of The Hundred where Danni top-scored with 295 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 141.14.
On Danni’s signing, RCB-W captain Smriti said, “Danielle is a game-changer and a phenomenal athlete. Her skills and competitive spirit align perfectly with our team’s vision. We are excited to welcome her to RCB and look forward to the energy she will bring to the squad.”
Danni - who has, in the past, also expressed her fondness for RCB on social media and has often interacted with the franchise’s loyal 12th Man Army - was also a part of England’s 2017 World Cup-winning squad and has two WT20I centuries to her name.
