The rivalry between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL is one of the fiercest the game of cricket has seen in the last decade. Both teams boast of a loyal fan base which intensifies the experience every time they meet each other.
CSK star Suresh Raina feels that every time the two teams face at RCB’s den Chinnaswamy, the atmosphere is electric as the fans are always pumped up. Raina who appeared on Instagram live with RCB and India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal heaped praises on RCB’s fan support.
“With the hotel in the vicinity of the ground (Chinnaswamy), you can hear the sound before every game. Every time the floodlights are switched on, you can feel that the match mode is on,” said Raina.
“The experience of playing at Chinnaswamy is completely different, the crowd out there is so amazing,” added the Southpaw who has been an integral part of the CSK set-up.
Chahal also echoed Raina’s sentiments and felt that both teams were lucky to have such a loyal set of fans.
“There are times when our season does not go well but it never impacts the crowd turnout as the stadium is always full. The same can be said for CSK as well. Even during your (CSK) net session, 15-20000 people turn up. It just shows how much passion the crowd has for the teams and the game,” said Chahal who has been holding Instagram live sessions on a regular basis amid the countrywide lockdown.
