The Women’s Ashes series will be played a week earlier than its schedule, as the bilateral affair between the two fierce rivals of the sport will kick off with the first T20I played on January 20th at the Adelaide Oval. The first Test will be played at Manuka Oval in Canberra from January 27th to 30th.

As mentioned earlier, this was a necessary change that had to be enforced in order for the Australian team to complete their quarantine ahead of the Women’s World Cup that was slated to go ahead from March 3rd.

Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley was heard quoting, “We are looking forward to a fantastic series between probably the two best teams in the world, with each side being current T20 and ODI world champions respectively.”

CA also had to take into consideration the logistical aspect of the tour. All the three T20Is are to be played in Adelaide before the team moves to Canberra for the Test and the first ODI. The remainder of the series will be held in Melbourne.

The CEO of CA, further quoted, “Regrettably, logistical considerations have meant that we have had to move two T20 games from North Sydney Oval, which has long been the home of the women's game in Sydney, and it is also disappointing that the annual Governor-General's XI match scheduled to be played at Drummoyne Oval is unable to proceed this season. We thank cricket fans in Sydney for their understanding and have no doubt that the three T20Is at Adelaide Oval will set the tone for a great series."

Australia vs England fixtures:

January 20th, 1st T20I at Adelaide Oval

January 22nd, 2nd T20I at Adelaide Oval

January 23rd, 3rd T20I at Adelaide Oval

January 27th to 30th, Test match at Manuka Oval

February 3rd, 1st ODI at Manuka Oval

February 6th, 2nd ODI at Manuka Oval

February 8th, 3rd ODI at Manuka Oval

Cricket Australia also confirmed the fact that the A-series will simultaneously continue with the Ashes in Adelaide and Canberra.
