Chennai Super Kings hope to pick up first win against formidable Lucknow Super Giants
03 Apr, 2023 By Editor

With all the teams having played their first match of IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings would really like to get their act together after a sloppy start to the tournament, suffering a defeat at the hands of the Gujarat Titans. Lucknow Super Giants, on the contrary, who would be playing their first away game in IPL 2023, will be desperate to continue their victorious form that started against the Delhi Capitals.

Chennai Super Kings will have to take a closer look at their batting department that lacked the depth and the right batting order that could have helped them getting close to a better score. In the end it clearly felt that they were at least 10-15 runs short and the consistent fall of wickets at the other end made life a living nightmare for the Kings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was phenomenal with the bat and would be hoping to add further sheen to his numbers while MS Dhoni would be keen to see the rest of the batting unit step up. The bowlers seemed to be in decent touch but a lack of nerves considering the young guns steaming in from both ends backfired. Chennai will be in desperate need of a leader in their bowling echelons who could get the job done, especially in the death overs.

Lucknow Super Giants roared off to a stunning start as they schooled Delhi Capitals in a lopsided encounter. Once again, riding high on some fine balance between youth and experience, the Super Giants controlled the narrative from the start to the stop.

With a somewhat all-round perfect display, Lucknow will be hopeful of claiming their second win on the trot that will send them flying to the top of the points table and also instill an aura of invincibility in them buoyed by some high-flying confidence.
