Bold Diaries: The AB de Villiers interview
AB de Villiers is perhaps one of the most decorated cricketers of this era, and he is always been someone the entire cricketing fraternity looks up to.
During an interview segment on Bold Diaries, the Protean revealed the conversation that he had with India and RCB captain Virat Kohli. The 32-year-old had reached out to his best mate during England's tour of India when he hadn't been able to contribute much with the bat in the Tests.
"I don't want to say. It's embarrassing. I think I mentioned four points. We spoke about a couple of things away from the game and then also a couple of technical things but it was very basic," AB de Villiers told Danish Sait on Bold Diaries.
All Virat had to hear was the basic stuff, says AB
"I have been wanting to tell him for quite a while, I was watching him for a few months looking like he was quite intense -- at the crease, with his whole game. So, I really wasn't surprised when I saw the message and I knew immediately that all he needs to hear is the basic stuff."
De Villiers just took out his phone, read out the four points that he mentioned to Captain Kohli.
"Four points -- see the ball, still head, allow the ball to come into your space, body language and attitude. And then we sort of elaborated around those four points," he said.
The 37-year-old is always open to provide any sort of guidance and tips to players who are in need of it.
“Whoever comes across my path, I’ll give whatever (guidance) I can. If someone knocks on my door, I give them whatever I have. I’m the kind of guy who wears my heart on my sleeve, I’ve got nothing to hide and I love sharing everything that I’ve learned throughout the years,” he remarked.
