As a new dawn awaits, as a new chapter awaits penning, as the Royal Challengers Bangalore gear up to take a historic yard through their Women's franchise, in another remarkable move, RCB appointed the iconic Ben Sawyer as the head coach of their Women's cricket team.

A man who is no stranger to glory, Ben Sawyer, who formerly led the Sydney Sixers to two consecutive WBBL titles, was announced as the vanguard of the coaching department that comprises a host of starry monikers.

Sawyer has previously served as the assistant coach of the Australian women’s U-19 team, following which he took up the mantle of fast bowling coach for the New South Wales Breakers.

Just ahead of the 2018 ICC Women's World T20, Sawyer was shouldered with the onus of being the assistant coach for the Australian Women's team where he extensively worked with the fast bowling department, replacing Ashley Noffke.

RCB-Women’s elite signing, Ellyse Perry credited Sawyer for playing an important role in ushering Australia to winning the Women's Ashes in 2019.

Not only did Sawyer help the Sydney Sixers bag two WBBL's but he was an instrumental part of the Australian squad that secured two ICC Women's World T20's coupled with the 2019 Women's Ashes.

In 2019, Sawyer was announced as the head coach of the Hundred's Women's franchise, Birmingham Phoenix, followed by a stint as the head coach of New South Wales Breakers.

After carving a glistening chapter for his entire tenure at various teams, he was announced as the head coach of New Zealand's Women's team in June 2022. With a resume as glittering as Sawyer's, RCB knew if someone was the perfect fit for this role, it had to be Sawyer. Come WPL 2023, Ben Sawyer will be looking to replicate his success as the Head Coach of the Women in Red and Gold.
