BCCI President Sourav Ganguly hints at IPL happening outside India

India cricketer Mayank Agarwal has been regularly hosting ex and current cricketers on his talk show 'Open Nets With Mayank', discussing various aspects of the game and much more. Recently, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly featured on the show and opened on different issues including the possibility of the Indian Premier League happening in India.

Dada also talked about his journey from his playing days to becoming the President of the BCCI.

Responding to a question on how he looks at the COVID-19 situation in India, Ganguly said, "I think the next two-three-four months will be a little tough. We will just have to bear it, and by the end of the year or beginning of next year, life should be back to normal."

The ICC is yet to give a final decision on whether or not the T20 World Cup will take place. Meanwhile, the BCCI is making new contingencies to host its flagship tournament, but with the growing concern of the virus, the chances of IPL in India are small.

Speaking on the show, the former India captain added, "I will wait for the vaccine to come out. Till then, yes, we will have to be a little more careful...we know what's happening and we don't want to fall sick. Saliva is an issue. Maybe once the vaccine comes out, just like any other illness, everything will be fine."

The UAE and Sri Lanka have already offered to host the cash-rich tournament. According to reports, New Zealand has also expressed its interest in hosting the IPL.

"It's like batting tactic, it's not same on all pitches, you play differently on slower pitches, you play differently when it turns and you play differently when it is flat. So COVID is at that stage, the stage of recovery," he said.

"Hopefully, by the end of this year we all should be fine," Ganguly told Agarwal.
