BCCI invites bids for Team India's Kit Manufacturer
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced that they are inviting bids for Team India's kit and merchandise partner. This announcement comes after Nike’s contract is came to an end and decided not to renew it. Team India and Nike have had this partnership for over 14 years and that makes the apparel giants their oldest partner.
“The terms and conditions governing the submission and evaluation of bids including eligibility requirements and performance obligations are contained in the ITT which will be available From August 3, 2020 on receipt of payment of the Tender Fee of Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lac Only). The ITT will remain for purchase till August 26, 2020,” the BCCI media release stated.
Nike won the rights to manufacture Team India's kit back in 2005 and have been doing so ever since. In 2017, they renewed the clause by having a four-year deal with the BCCI for INR 370 crores with a royalty of INR 30 crores.
“Interested parties are requested to email at marketing@bcci.tv in order to get further details for purchasing the ITT," the BCCI said in statement.
"The BCCI reserves the right at its discretion to cancel or amend the bidding process at any stage without providing any reason. Merely buying the ITT does not entitle the purchaser to bid, but to bid the purchaser must buy the ITT in the name of the person/entity desiring to bid,” the media release added.
