As India prepare for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, BCCI announced the squad for the series. With a flurry of fresh faces introduced, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be hopeful of continuing their dominant run in the shortest format of the game.
Abhishek Sharma was awarded a place in the side after the youngster’s phenomenal run in IPL 2024 while also lighting up the Zimbabwe tour with a blistering ton. Varun Chakravarthy was recalled to the Indian side, owing to his phenomenal run in the latest iteration of the IPL.
With big names like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj rested ahead of the upcoming Test series against New Zealand, India has gone for young guns like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana.
Suryakumar Yadav will be spearheading the side but there has been no deputy who has been named to him. It is going to be interesting to see who would be the one to lead the side in case SKY decides to sit out or need a break during the series.
