Much to the glee of the Indian fans, Mohammed Shami will be making a return to the Indian national team for the upcoming T20I series against England. The five-match series to be played between India and England is slated to start from 22nd January in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Shami is making his international return after being a part of the 2023 World Cup final which was his last appearance in the circuit. BCCI announced the squad for the Indian team which will be facing England in the T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the young side in this all-important English challenge while Axar Patel was named as his deputy.

India decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah from the squad as the back spasm that occurred in Australia proved to be bedeviling. Apart from Bumrah, other notable players who were rested included the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel are the two wicket-keepers for the upcoming fray against the Three Lions.
