A line-up that would challenge all full strength teams: Brad Hogg on India squad for Sri Lanka
India have sent a squad full of limited-overs specialists to Sri Lanka. While the decision may have been influenced with the new world order that requires their main team to be in England for the Test series, the squad in Sri Lanka is full of players who have either plied the trade at the highest level or been knocking at the doors for some time.
However, not everyone has been pleased with India sending a separate squad to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka’s former World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga termed the Indian squad a second-string side, calling it an insult to Sri Lanka cricket.
Ranatunga’s comments received counters from some of the former cricketers who vouched for the potential of the Indian team.
Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg is the latest cricketer to join the voices.
Hogg thinks that the Indian team has all the ingredients to make it a world-class unit.
“Looking at the India squad in Sri Lanka, I don't think the hosts can complain. It's a lineup that would challenge all full-strength teams at the moment #INDvSL,” Hogg Tweeted.
The 50-year-old also talked about how the presence of Rahul Dravid is going to impact the performance of the team.
"Sri Lanka are having a few issues. India will win both series. Rahul Dravid to disciplined to not have the squad in the right frame of mind," Hogg said in another Tweet.
