New Zealand Cricket set to organise six national high-performance training camps
With a recovery rate of 97%, New Zealand has substantially mitigated the vigorous spread of the virus. In a bid to initiate a return to the cricketing fold, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed that six national high-performance camps will be conducted in a phase-wise manner till mid-September.
On Monday, a few Kiwi players commenced their training sessions at one of the high-performance centres in Lincoln.
"New Zealand's top male and female cricketers will return to squad training at the NZC High-Performance Centre in Lincoln this week, in the first of six national camps scheduled for the coming winter months."
The media release further added that a larger bunch of individuals will be involved in the second camp, including skipper Kane Williamson, at Mount Maunganui, beginning from next week.
"The South Island and Wellington-based BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS will train at the Canterbury hub this week, while a larger second camp for players further North will commence at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui from July 19," the media release quoted.
The White Ferns took to their twitter handle to announce that the players from Wellington team, Canterbury, and Otago cricket team are already part of the first training camp.
