Justin Langer excited to see David Warner and Steve Smith against Jasprit Bumrah
India’s fast bowlers earned an unprecedented reputation when the team toured Australia in 2018-19. The 2-1 win in the Test series was a testimony to the impact they had created. Later this year, India are touring down under once again and the fans are already salivating at the prospect of what is expected to be a pitched battle.
However, there is going to be a major difference in the look and feel of the Australian team that will greet Kohli’s men this time around. The Kangaroos will feel emboldened by the presence of stalwarts like Steve Smith and David Warner who were missing out the last time India and Australia met each other Down Under.
Australia coach Justin Langer is much excited at the prospect of seeing the two of the best operators in the game face Jasprit Bumrah. Talking to Sportstar, Langer said, “Australia Cricket Team has The entire team has grown as a unit including David and Steve. It was a difficult summer 18 months ago against a very impressive side which I still rate as one of the toughest I have seen.”
“We learnt some lessons along the way. I always enjoy seeing the best of the best going against each other and in a series like Australia versus India, there will be many great players who will put on a show,” former Australia batsman added.
“Virat (Kohli) versus Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and David Warner vs Jasprit (Bumrah). It’s a tantalising prospect for any cricket lover,” Langer said.
India will play 3 T20Is, 4 Tests and 3 ODIs in Australia. The first T20I will be held on October 11th, while the Test series will kick off from December 3 at Gabba.
