RCB Podcast: I love RCB so much – Richa Ghosh opens up on the team bonding that makes the franchise special

On 10th of March, 2024, RCB played a game like none other where they were pitted against the formidable Delhi Capitals. Chasing 182, Richa Ghosh walked out to bat with the team in a very difficult position, needing 89 runs off the last eight matches. However, the world witnessed an unprecedented storm as she almost propelled RCB to the finishing line, only for the side to lose by a solitary run.
Talking on the latest episode of Big Basket presents RCB Podcast: Bold & Beyond, Richa Ghosh revealed the magic words which Smriti Mandhana told her that saw the entire team embark upon an odyssey resulting in RCB winning the WPL that year.
Richa said, “When the game got over and I came out, Smriti di and everyone else told me that the next time I get a chance, I will be the one to finish it. So I think that they believed that we would play the final. We kept the belief alive that no matter what, we will have to play the final. I told Smriti di that I wanted to finish the game but I couldn’t.”
Richa further added, “She said that it wasn’t a problem. You will definitely finish it next time because from that place, you dragged the game to this juncture, that is more important for us. They motivated me a lot. They calmed me down. They told me not to fret, everyone else echoed. That was a glimpse of the team bonding that we have always had. That is why I love RCB so much. The support staff that we have, the players, I love them all.”
