Pratika Rawal added to India squad for ODI series against Australia
Pratika Rawal is all set to return to international cricket as the opener has been added as the 16th member to the squad for India’s upcoming ODI series against the Australian women. The imminent three-match ODI series will begin once the two teams finish the T20I series where the Women in Blue have a 1-0 lead after the first game.
Rawal has been out of cricketing action since October 26th, after hurting her knee and ankle during India’s last group stage match against Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. She was already added to the Test squad for the one-off contest between India and Australia but with her recovery happening sooner, she is set to make her comeback earlier than predicted.
A BCCI statement released on Tuesday said, “Pratika Rawal completed her rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and has fully recovered from her ankle injury.”
Rawal made her international debut in ODIs in December 2024, the only format in which she has played international cricket so far. From 23 innings, she has amassed 1110 runs at an average of 50.45, scoring two centuries and seven fifties. She even enjoyed good form on her side in the 2025 World Cup with scores of 37, 31, 37 and 122 to her name before being sidelined with an injury.
