India to start Super Eights round with clash against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2026
Team India’s Super Eights schedule was finalized after Australia crashed out of the ICC T20 World Cup following the washout of the Zimbabwe vs Ireland contest, which earned the African nation a spot in the next stage. India will start their Super Eight campaign with a clash against South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 22nd.
The Super Eights consist of eight teams divided into two groups of four teams each. The two groups were decided based on pre-seedings ahead of the tournament. This means the order of the Super Eight remains the same, regardless of where the teams finish their group stages.
If any pre-seeded teams were eliminated, the replacement team would take their position. With Australia eliminated, Zimbabwe will take their place in the group. India will play South Africa, Zimbabwe and West Indies in the Super Eights.
After their clash against South Africa, they will face Zimbabwe in Chennai on February 26th. This will be followed by their final group stage fixture against the West Indies on March 1st, to be played in Kolkata.
