Bhuvneshwar Kumar chronicled an incredible feat last night as he became the second Indian to register 350 T20 wickets in his career. Playing his 325th T20 contest, Bhuvi reached the milestone, trailing only Yuzvendra Chahal whose haul boasts 391 wickets from 337 games.

Bhuvi’s incredible figures of 3/28 from his four overs last night gave RCB a massive boost in defending a modest total. With his haul of three wickets last night, Bhuvi leapfrogged Eashan Malinga to claim the Purple Cap, boasting 17 wickets at an average of 15.53.

Talking at the post-match press conference, when asked about being the Purple Cap holder, Bhuvi made it clear that for him, the team game now comes far before individual feats. He also lauded the RCB management for the unwavering support that he has received.

Bhuvi said, “It’s good that I got the Purple Cap. But I think I have come out of that phase where I want to achieve something individually. Of course, I still want to achieve things, but now it’s more about the team. I’m not young anymore. When you’re younger, you naturally aim for those awards, and they come when you perform well.”

He further added, “When you work towards the team’s success and also receive individual rewards, it feels good. But honestly, I’m just trying to give my best. I’m gaining confidence from the management, and that’s what matters most.”
