You're now a legend yourself: Yuvraj Singh pens heartfelt letter to Virat Kohli

It’s been a while since the former Indian captain has been consistently under the radar for falling short of the magical three figures. Even though the man has delivered almost on a daily basis, he has yet been hounded by fans and journalists alike for missing out on centuries, as if the solitary yardstick to gauge one’s greatness with the willow has been a hundred.

Contrary to the incessant hounding, former Indian cricketers have taken Virat’s side and stood by him in a phase where all of his moves have been scrutinized, as he transcended himself to the zenith.

One of his world-cup winning mates, Yuvraj Singh was the latest one to be added to this list as he penned a heartfelt quote for the run-machine.

Former Indian all-rounder, Yuvi quoted, “Mere liye tu hamesha Cheeku rahega aur duniya ke liye King Kohli (you will always be Cheeku for me and King Kohli for the world).”

He further added, “Virat, I've seen you grow as a cricketer and as a person. From that young boy in the nets who would walk shoulder-to-shoulder with the legends of Indian cricket, you're now a legend yourself leading the way for a new generation.”

Yuvraj’s letter to Kohli left the cricketing world emotional. He further penned, “Your discipline in the nets, passion on the field, and dedication to the sport that inspires every young kid in this country to pick up the bat and dream of putting on the blue jersey one day.”

He continued, “You have elevated your level of cricket every single year and achieved so much already in this wonderful game. You have been a legendary captain and a fantastic leader."

Speaking about the memories the duo formed together, he said, “Always keep the fire inside you burning. You're a superstar. Here's a special golden boot for you. Keep making the country proud.”
