We haven't climbed our Everest – Mo Bobat on RCB’s aspirations
The third edition of the RCB Innovation Indian Sports Summit powered by Leaders featured many prominent figures from across the sporting ecosystem at the Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. One speaker was RCB's Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, who shed some light on the franchise's outlook and approach to the IPL having entered the current season as the champions of IPL 2025.
Highlighting RCB's ever-evolving growth structure and drawing a sharp analogy to scaling the peak of all peaks, Bobat said, “I wanted everyone in the environment and the franchise to realise that we haven’t yet climbed our Everest.”
He further added, “I think if there’s a team or an organization, you feel like you’ve climbed your Everest, you end up then trying to hang on to the top, I don’t want us to behave like that. I want us to stay in hunter mindset, rather than hunted mindset.”
RCB have enjoyed an excellent run in IPL 2026 so far, becoming the first team to qualify for this season's playoffs with 9 wins from 13 matches and a strong grasp at the top position on the points table.
