We are not playing alone – Harmanpreet Kaur on Indian fans' support in the World Cup
After an unforgettable chase in Navi Mumbai against Australia in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 semi-final, the Indian women's team will be gearing up for their summit clash against South Africa. Two teams who had a phenomenal run in the fray will be going head-to-head in this brutal battle.
Talking in the post-match presentation of the semi-final, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur opened up on the preparations for the upcoming game while quickly heaping praise on the fans who turned up in large numbers to cheer for them in the semis.
Explaining the build-up to the finale, Kaur said, “Now one more game to go and today we all played well, we are really happy with the result. Now already we have started speaking about our next game. So I think that shows how focused we are and how we are keen to win this World Cup because playing in home conditions is very special to us and we just want to give it to our fans, to our families who have been praying for us for so many years. I think this is a great time for us to deliver for our fans and family and hopefully one more game to go and we will keep giving our best.”
She concluded by dropping a quick message for the fans, stating, “We are not playing alone, they are always with us and we are so proud that every game they are coming and pushing us. I think they have been amazing even though when we lost we were getting messages that this World Cup is not the end, you guys are amazing and you can change the result any day, any time and I think that shows how involved they are with us. I think we are not alone and the entire country is with us.”
