Virat's the best chaser to have ever played the game – Dale Steyn
Virat Kohli continued to remain in the hunt for the Orange Cap with an incredible knock of 81 runs from just 44 balls against Gujarat Titans. His quick scoring at the top allowed Devdutt Padikkal to hammer at will and when Kohli got into the groove, it was double trouble for GT.
Talking on ESPNCricinfo’s TimeOut show, former RCB fast-bowler and Kohli’s teammate, Dale Steyn opened up on how Kohli has evolved over the years. From pointing out his intellect to his chasing calibre, Steyn went on a full-blown rave about Virat’s superhuman capabilities.
Steyn said, “He's a genius. He's always looking to try and get better. He's what we talk about. He plays what's in front of him. He reads the situation. Probably one of the best players that I've ever known that reads the situation and calculates how the game needs to be panned out from the first ball that he's faced. He's kind of worked out a road to get to the final runs. He's the best chaser to have ever played the game."
