A 19-year-old Vihaan Malhotra illuminated Punjab with a sparkling century in the ongoing Punjab State Inter District Senior One Day Limited Overs tournament. Thanks to Malhotra’s ton, his team Patiala secured a dominant win over Jalandhar to qualify for the tournament's summit clash.

Opening the innings with Prabhsimran Singh, Malhotra looked in total control right from the outset. Batting first, Jalandhar posted 269. Courtesy of Vihaan’s early assault, Patiala wrested control of the chase.

Despite an early stutter with Prabhsimran Singh’s wicket, Vihaan dropped anchor and steadied the innings. Soon he came to the fore, rocking and rolling, smacking 16 fours and two sixes in what proved to be a defining presence in the center.

Malhotra combined well with Sanvir Singh who also scored a century and stayed unbeaten as Patiala shot down the total in just 36.4 overs. Vihaan was also a part of 127-runs stand with Sanvir, laying the brickwork for Patiala to secure the bragging rights of the clash.
