To top the league in this tournament is a great effort – Andy Flower
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured the pole position in the IPL points table despite a defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. A composed batting performance from Rajat Patidar combined with Venkatesh Iyer’s early fire saw RCB tot up 200 on the board in response to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 255 in the latter’s backyard.
RCB head coach, Andy Flower was happy with the performance the team knitted together. In the dressing room chat, he expressed his happiness about how RCB secured the crucial top spot in the points table. He also shed light on the fact that every team in the tournament has been incredible irrespective of their position in the points table.
Flower told his dressing room, “Congratulations on topping the league at the end of the season. Leaving the immediate future aside for a second, to top the league in this league is a great effort.”
He concluded by stating, “There are ten very good teams there. Even the teams right on the bottom, we've seen what they've done when they've played with genuine freedom, you know, when they're out of the competition. They've knocked off a couple of really good sides towards the end of this league.”
