The only thing I understood was cricket – Radha Yadav

Radha Yadav has been an instrumental part of RCB’s path to the final of WPL 2026, with her handy knocks, clever bowling and superb work on the outfield adding extra value to the squad. However, the start of it all for Radha was very different. For her, cricket was more than just a game. It was everything. She lived for it and kept things extremely simple.

Talking about her love for cricket on the latest RCB Bold Diaries video, Radha said, “It took me some time, but honestly, I didn’t understand any of it back then. I had no awareness, none at all. The only thing I understood was cricket. People talk about being street-smart, saving money, figuring things out quickly, handling life - but I didn’t have that sense.”

She further added, “I had no emotions like I’m away from home, or what will my family think, or what will people say. I had no awareness of any of that. My thinking was very simple: play cricket, earn money, do your work properly, don’t hurt anyone, and keep your heart clean. That was the extent of my knowledge.”

Likening how a snap of MS Dhoni lifting the World Cup served as a major inspiration, Radha said, “All I knew was that I wanted to play cricket, represent India, be on television. I remember watching that trophy, when MS Dhoni lifted it. The whole world went crazy. Firecrackers, celebrations, people flooding the streets, everyone out enjoying themselves. I told myself, "I want to experience this too."”
