Indian and RCB batting ace, Virat Kohli didn’t hold back his emotions as he poured his love for tennis icon, Roger Federer after the Swiss stalwart announced his plans of stepping down from the pedestal ahead of the Laver Cup 2022 on Thursday. One of the greatest tennis players of all time, former World number one, Federer decided to call it a day after the denouement of the latest edition of the Laver Cup. This farewell comes within days of another tennis ace, Serena Williams calling it a day in Tennis.

Roger Federer took to his social media platforms and penned a long note where he thanked the tennis fraternity and his fans for being by his side for such a long time. Federer said in the Tweet, “Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career.”

Former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli has always voraciously spoken about how Roger Federer has been a true inspiration for him across the sporting field and how he continues to serve the game with utmost dedication despite the creaking bones.

Given the love and affection that Kohli shares for the Tennis emperor, he took to Facebook to pen a heartfelt message for Federer’s retirement. The words were simple and yet overwhelmingly powerful for any individual. He said, “The greatest of all time, King Roger.”

Virat Kohli will soon be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup before which he will be featuring in two bilateral series where the Men in Blue will be colliding with Australia and South Africa as a part of their preparations for the upcoming biennial extravaganza.
