That hunger is important for you to keep moving forward – Dinesh Karthik ahead of SRH vs RCB
In what can very well be a clash of the titans, RCB will be locking horns with SRH in their last league-stage fixture. Ahead of the crucial battle, RCB’s mentor and batting coach, Dinesh Karthik, opened up on the mindset of the side while also acknowledging SRH’s strength that can make this a contest to savour.
Speaking on RCB Game Day, DK said, “I think it's been a terrific campaign with the ball and bat. I personally don't want to feel like, ah, everything is good. It's just a mindset of mine. I just feel you need to keep wanting some more even though there's very little part of the tournament left. That hunger is important for you to keep moving forward.”
He further added, “And I couldn't have asked anything more in terms of character that they've shown. And that pretty much says everything you need to know about the current RCB team. I don't think this team is any different. And you can see with the mindset the players seem to have, each have come with a plan to work on a certain specific thing and try and make sure that they're better at this conversation.”
He also focused on the unity amongst the players, stating, “There's a collective effort in trying to play another good game of cricket. It's not like we want to come to Hyderabad and do anything differently to what we have done in the last few weeks. So that in itself is a testament to how the team is thinking.”
He concluded with a word about Sunrisers Hyderabad, stating, “We're playing SRH in Hyderabad, a home game for them. SRH is a solid team and that's the reason why they are in the top three and they play some wonderful cricket. It's two good teams going up against each other and we'll try and put our best foot forward and we're trying to do everything we can to make sure that we compete and cross the line.”
