RCB were chasing a meagre total of 76 in Arun Jaitley to complete their sixth win of the season. The bowlers had already piled pressure on DC from which they could never recover. Keeping the NRR in mind, RCB were planning to conclude the game in a blink and that is exactly what they pulled off. After Jacob Bethell fell, Devdutt Padikkal stepped in and slaughtered the Delhi bowling.

Padikkal smacked 34 off 13 and stayed unbeaten to secure the bragging rights for RCB. Talking at the post-match presentation, Padikkal opened up on the collective bowling show from RCB while also shedding some light on his impressive slip catching that sent Nitish Rana packing.

Talking about RCB’s bowling flair, Padikkal said, “Yeah, I think it was great to see the way we bowled in those first six overs. Those two are so good with the new ball. And when you have that from both ends, I think the pressure on the batting side is immense, and that really showed today.”

Explaining how it was to watch Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood to bowl from the slip cordon, Padikkal added, “Yeah, I'm expecting a catch every ball, and that's not something you would say in a T20 game. But the way those two are bowling, every ball is an opportunity.”

Padikkal concluded by talking about his innings and the acceleration, stating, “Yeah, definitely. I think when you have a total like that on the board, it's important that we try and finish it off as soon as possible. And once Beth started the way he did, then it was pretty easy from there."
