Smriti Mandhana will be beginning her journey as the Indian captain with a multi-format series against Zimbabwe. The Women in Blue will be playing three T20Is against Zimbabwe in Raipur starting from October 16th, followed by three ODIs.

Niki Prasad and Jintimani Kalita have been the latest inclusions to the WT20I side while Nandani Sharma has been called up to the ODI side after a sensational show in the Asia Cup and the Asian Games. As BCCI announced the squads for both the formats, India went forward with a lot of experience while bringing in young guns.

The tweaks from the Asian Games squad for the Indian side will see Minnu Mani and Anushka Sharma joining Prasad and Kalita as the replacements for Bharti Fulmali, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh and Radha Yadav. The ODI squad saw a handful of replacements too from last year’s outing against Australia.

India brought in the likes of Tejal Hasabnis, Yastika Bhatia, Vaishnavi Sharma, Nandani Sharma and Sayali Satghare. The big names who have missed out on the ODIs are Jemimah Rodrigues, who is still nursing a high-grade hamstring tear that happened in the Hundred, Gunalan Kamalini, Amanjot Kaur, Sneh Rana and Kashvee Gautam.
