Sheetal Devi’s dream run continued in the Paralympics as she bagged her second medal of the ongoing Games, this time in a mixed team with veteran Rakesh Kumar. The duo clinched Bronze in the mixed compound archery event at the Paris Paralympics, equalling the Para Games record in the process.

Sheetal grabbed the limelight with a sensational debut in the Paralympics and this second medal is simply another hallowed testimony to the kind of brilliance that she brings. Rakesh Kumar, to his credit, has been working hard over the years to find himself in the thick of things and the medal is a fitting feather in his cap.

The Bronze arrived in dramatic fashion as the duo edged past Italy’s Eleonara Sarti and Matteo Bonacina in a closely contested thriller with just a solitary point separating the two sides. The Indian duo went into the final set trailing by 116-117 and needed four out four tens to prevail. The duo didn’t disappoint as they continued to deliver the payload with precision which landed them the all-important Bronze.
