RCB set sights on win against LSG in crucial home encounter
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru got back to winning ways against the Mumbai Indians in the former’s previous IPL 2026 clash. A superlative batting performance from RCB saw them emphatically blow away the Mumbai attack. With runs deluging in Wankhede, the highlight of the night was Phil Salt returning to form.
With four totals north of 200 in the first four games, it goes without saying that the Royal Challengers will pin their hopes on their batters again. With the caravan returning to Bengaluru, and considering the kind of surface that has been in play until now, it might be the same motif where batters make merry once again.
Currently stationed in the third position, RCB will look to push for the top spot with a win against the Lucknow Super Giants. LSG, on the other hand, will be coming off a defeat against the Gujarat Giants. Lucknow will be desperate to push hard for another win, not just for the two points but also to remain in the hunt for the top four.
RCB will be cautious with their bowling approach which has seen performances in patches. One of the major conundrums for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be their pace spearhead. With a call to make between Jacob Duffy who has already claimed six wickets and Josh Hazlewood who racked up two wickets in his first game of the season, RCB will need some serious discussion. RCB’s spin department has attacked in packs so far and has been quite successful in stalling the scoring rate.
Venue Watch:
Chinnaswamy has already seen two overwhelming run-fests including the highest total of IPL 2026 until now. The surface is flat with true bounce in play, batters get full value for their runs and as soon as the lacquer comes off the new ball, hitting the cherry gets much easier. The second half of the contest will see dew coming on, thereby making life a living nightmare for the bowlers.
