I've really enjoyed watching Andy – Mo Bobat on the dressing room atmosphere under Andy Flower

Ahead of IPL 2025, RCB announced Dinesh Karthik as the team’s new mentor and batting coach.
Needless to be said, it has led to a significant change in their batting approach as the batters have come out all guns blazing in the ongoing season. RCB’s on-field success has also reflected the tremendous work that has been put in by the coaching staff throughout the span of the campaign.
Talking in RCB's Journey to the Finale, Episode 1: The Foundation, RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat opened up on how the latest addition to their coaching unit of Dinesh Karthik has proved to be a game-changer for RCB.
He also added how Andy Flower created a positive dressing room environment, thereby playing a major role in shaping up the team for the fine run.
Highlighting DK’s role in the coaching team, Bobat said, “The main thing that we wanted from DK was – mentor is a word that gets used quite a lot, especially in the IPL. I think he's doing a really good job of bringing that to life."
He then shifted his focus to the atmosphere in the dressing room under Andy Flower, adding, “I've really enjoyed watching Andy head coach slightly differently this year to how he did last year. The team has changed and the captain has changed. Essentially, we share the principle that we would like our players to walk onto the field and make their own decisions.”
Bobat concluded by saying, “And to do that, you've got to create a decision-rich environment on and off the field. For Andy and I, creating a sort of environment where people feel safe, where they feel backed, where they feel like they're accountable for their own decisions, and where they're able to hopefully showcase their strengths – that's the key bit."
