It feels special – Venkatesh Iyer on being a part of RCB for IPL 2026

Last year RCB and KKR went head-to-head to secure Venkatesh Iyer's services. It was eventually the Kolkata Knight Riders who could land Venky Iyer for a sum of INR 23.75 crore. Cut to the recent IPL Auction: RCB signed Venkatesh Iyer for INR 7 crore. The dynamic all-rounder made a significant impact in his very first appearance for RCB, smashing an unbeaten 29 off just 15 balls as an Impact Player.

Talking on the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, Venkatesh Iyer revealed the raw emotions that he had after he joined RCB. He highlighted how RCB’s extended family made him eager to be a part of the franchise for the upcoming season.

Venky said, “It feels special. Obviously, they went a long way last year. Unfortunately, they couldn't get me, but this year they've showed that faith in me. And, you know, welcome to RCB is something that I've heard for almost six months now.”

He further added, “It goes to show the love that people have, you know, in the streets of Indore or Patna or Delhi, which is far away from Karnataka. So much love people show for RCB, you know. It just makes you feel like you're gonna be part of something extra special when it comes to the IPL. So I think I'm really looking forward to playing for RCB this season.”
