The IPL Auction is all set to return to India, with Goa announced as the host city for this year’s proceedings.

BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, told ANI, “This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations - Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi last year - we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December.”

The last time India hosted an IPL auction was back in December 2022, when the IPL 2023 Auction was held in Kochi.

A week prior, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had told PTI, “Every year we try for this to happen in India, but we don’t get the venue given the heavy marriage season. So, we definitely want it to be here this year, given that it would be a smaller auction and hopefully we will get the venue.”

As far as the reports go, the auction might be held in the middle of December while the retention dates might be finalised by the end of November, even though no concrete announcements were made about the same.

The IPL market has already started seeing major moves and it only indicates that until auction arrives, one can expect a lot of drama to unfold.
