He's a superstar – Pat Cummins heaps high praise on Josh Hazlewood
Australia snatched a clinical win against South Africa in the first Test of the series in Durban. Josh Hazlewood played a pivotal role in the clash, claiming six wickets in the second innings while concluding the contest with an overall tally of eight wickets across both the innings.
Talking at the post-match conference, Australian captain, Pat Cummins, had the highest praise reserved for Hoff.
Cummins highlighted what Hoff brings to the mix while also underlining the quality that sets the latter apart from the others.
Lauding Hazlewood, Cummins said, “He's a superstar. He obviously gets spoken about a lot about his consistency, but I think that undersells him [and] what he does. He's really skilful with the new ball, but once you get a reversing ball, he's just as skillful, he can swing it both ways.”
Cummins further added, “And one thing I've always loved about Joshy and Starcy [Mitchell Starc] is they're just so happy getting to the grind. They'll never shy away from having a bowl. It's not always the case with Test players whereas they're just, whatever the team needs, they'll just roll up their sleeves and go to work. A captain's dream."
