From the first game till the final, we just dominated – Smriti Mandhana

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted their second WPL crown as they pipped Delhi Capitals in a thrilling finale.

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana, on an episode of RCB Bold Diaries, highlighted how the entire team came together, a rare spectacle in franchise sport and how that played to RCB’s strengths.

Shedding light on the positives from another championship-winning season, Smriti said, “Really, really special. I mean, the second year when we won it, like, we qualified at the last moment and went on to win. Of course, that was a special journey again. But this year, I mean, right from the first game till the final, we just dominated. And I think that speaks a lot about the camp. And so really happy to not only play cricket or win it, but dominate the whole tournament.”

Emphasizing on the camaraderie amongst the players, Smriti said, “I mean, I feel the most fun group. I mean, everyone would have felt it. Really young, although, overseas are young as well, even the Indians are pretty young. So everyone came together really well. Very rarely it happens. You have to take a lot of efforts to get everyone, but really happy all of us gelled together and I feel that kind of shows in the way you play on the field as well. So really happy that we gelled together really nice.”
