Everyone supports each other– Smriti Mandhana underlines Indian women cricket team’s evolving culture

A lot has been talked about India’s women’s cricket culture and the evolution that it is going through currently. With WPL taking centerstage and India’s growing dominance across international cricket, the discussions have been a lot more far-fetched and intense.

One star at the heart of it all, Smriti Mandhana, opened up on how the future generations are a different gravy altogether when it comes to taking the yard.

Talking on BBC’s Stumped podcast, she underlined how the overall mindset in the Indian side is changing and what should be done by the seniors in order to ensure that these young guns bloom majestically.

Smriti said, “We have a lot of youngsters coming in, and we do have a culture where everyone really supports each other. But yeah, there's something which is maybe we could back players a little more and, yeah, I mean, when someone is not doing the way we want to do in terms of performances and the player is back at that point of time, I think, that's when the player also has that kind of a thing where they want to go out and give their life for the team. And that's something which we can go ahead and create a lot.”
