Ee sala Cup Namdu! – Rajat Patidar elated to lead RCB to their maiden IPL crown

In his first season as RCB captain, Rajat Patidar penned history by lifting the trophy, the maiden IPL title in the franchise's history. He also chimed in with a crucial cameo earlier with the bat in the match, helping RCB to garner some serious momentum en route to 190.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Rajat spoke about the feelings of winning the final while heaping praise on his teammates. He concluded with a very special line that the fans have been waiting to say for 18 years now.
Shedding light on his feelings and the conditions, Rajat said, “I think it is really special for me and special for Virat Kohli and all the fans who have supported for years. They deserve it. After Qualifier 1, at that time we thought we could do this. I think 190 was a good score on this track because it was a bit slow.”
Highlighting the crucial role of the bowling unit, Patidar added, “The way bowlers executed their plans was tremendous to watch. He's (Krunal) a wicket-taking bowler. Whenever I come under pressure, I look for KP. Suyash also bowled really well throughout the season. And all the fast bowlers - Bhuvi, Yash, Hazlewood and the way Romario came in and the way he gave 2-3 overs and the breakthrough was special.”
Adding further on his captaincy and the management, Patidar said, “For me it's a great opportunity to do captaincy under him and it was a great learning for me. As I said he deserves it more than anyone else. Virat Kohli and all the fans. Everyone who has supported - the management, support staff - the way they've supported the players was beautiful.”
He concluded with a very special line for the fans, stating, “I just want to say one line for the fans - Ee sala Cup Namdu (This year the cup is ours).”
