The first round of Duleep Trophy 2024 saw one of the two matches coming to an early end as India C secured a victory by four wickets at Anantapur. A clinical display from Abhishek Porel to finish things off while handy knocks from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Aryan Juyal and Rajat Patidar sealed the deal for India C.

In the other game at Bengaluru, at Stumps, India B held a convincing lead with a day to go and will be hopeful of securing a victory after a dominant display. Ahead of the last day of the fixture at Chinnaswamy, here is a brief round up of what happened on Day 3.

Match summary so far at Chinnaswamy:

Responding to India B’s 321 in the first innings, India A got skittled out for 231. Musheer Khan scored a brilliant 181 while Navdeep Saini’s half-century kept them afloat. Akash Deep was the pick of the lot with figures of 4/60. Combined cameos from the India A batters saw them garner 231, trailing by 90 runs. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini claimed three wickets each. Rishabh Pant’s blitzkrieg of 61 from 47 balls in addition to Sarfaraz Khan’s 36-ball-46 allowed India B to pile up 150 at the end of the day with a lead of 240.

Match summary at Anantapur:

The third day of the game at Anantapur had an India C win written all over it. With just two India D wickets to topple, they wasted no time before chasing down 233 without breaking a sweat. Ruturaj Gaikwad (46), Aryan Juyal (47), Rajat Patidar (44) and Abhishek Porel (35*) sealed the deal for India C.
