The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 started today and there was a lot to watch out for in the coming days, going by the opening day. In the game that was played in the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India A locked horns with India B. The match played at Anantapur in Madhya saw India C squaring off with India D.

1st day summary of Chinnaswamy:

Winning the toss, India A opted to field first. Despite a feisty start from Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored 30 off 59 balls, the foundation was rocked deeply by some excellent bowling from Akash Deep, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. The fast-bowling trio claimed two wickets each. Reduced to 94/7, it was Musheer Khan who played a crucial knock in turning the tide around while being aptly supported by Navdeep Saini as India B finished at 202/7 at Stumps.

1st day summary of Anantapur:

This was a more eventful day as 14 wickets fell on the first day of the contest. Winning the toss, India C elected to field first. Courtesy of an early storm from Vyshak Vijaykumar who claimed three wickets, India D was skittled out for 164. Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan played the perfect support for Vyshak plundering four wickets between them. Coming out to bat, India D had their fair shares of troubles as they lost four wickets within just 91 runs. Harshit Rana and Axar Patel shared two wickets each.
