Dinesh Karthik has been an absolute freak of nature in the ongoing edition of IPL, rocking and rolling his way with pomp and vigour. With 226 runs scored at a stunning average of 75.33 and a staggering strike rate of 205.45, the Finisher Supreme is possibly enjoying one of his best IPL seasons.

When there was a collapse at one end against the Mumbai Indians, Dinesh Karthik anchored the other before going ballistic in the final two overs, hammering an unbeaten 53 while he followed that up with an extraordinary 83 in an almost Sisyphean run-chase against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In the wake of his scintillating power-hitting, another name that has also been dishing out some heroics of his own has been India’s former skipper, MS Dhoni. Talking to Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan on the Youtube show called Club Prairie Fire, Rohit crafted a hilarious response when quizzed whether there was a chance that DK could be a part of the T20 World Cup.

Rohit said, “Quite impressed, watching DK bat a couple of nights back, and Dhoni as well, came to play four balls, made a huge impact, that was the difference. It will be hard to convince MS although he is coming to the US, to do something else. He is into golf now. DK will be easier to convince I guess.”

In fact, just to take you all back to the MI clash, Rohit was also caught saying on the stump mic, “Well done DK! He is pushing for a spot in the T20 World Cup. His mind is occupied with the thought of the World Cup.”

Dinesh Karthik will be back in action on April 21st when RCB take on Kolkata Knight Riders in an afternoon clash in the latter’s den.
