BCCI announce schedule for IPL 2025; RCB to face KKR in curtain-raiser

The BCCI announced the schedule for the upcoming edition of IPL 2025 and it is going to be RCB vs KKR to kickstart proceedings.
The 18thedition of the prestigious tournament starts on March 22nd, 2025 with a rollicking duel between the defending champions and the Royal Challengers, promising no dearth of fireworks and excitement.
The tournament will be spanning for a staggering two months with the final slated to be played on May 25th. Eden Gardens will be playing host to the tournament opener with the first set of double-headers lined up for the following day, i.e. 23rd of March. All evening games will be played at 7:30 PM while the afternoon games will start from 3:30 PM.
A total of 12 double-headers will be played across the tournament with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals scheduled to play the first of them apart from the big CSK-MI clash.
Three of the 10 IPL teams will be playing their home games at two venues. Delhi Capitals will be playing their home games at Visakhapatnam and New Delhi. Rajasthan Royals will be playing a couple of games in Guwahati and the rest of their home games will be played in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Punjab Kings will be playing four of their seven games in Chandigarh while the remaining seven games will be played at the picturesque Dharamsala.
Following the league stages, the play-offs will be played across Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will be hosting the first qualifier on May 20th and the first eliminator on May 21st. The caravan will then travel to Kolkata for the second qualifier slated to be played on May 23rd. The summit clash will be played on May 25th, 2025.
